  Cashier doesn't know basic sale laws, customer service was dismal. Right up the road but I will drive 5 more minutes to go to the Food Lion.

  This is my regular Kroger, not out of loyalty but out of practicality. I could drive a few more miles and get better produce or meats, but this location has what I need, so it's not worth the opportunity cost to haul hither and yon. That said, it's just not the best store. It's older and showing its age. The cart fleet is getting more and more ragged, and they haven't done a lot to update the presentation of the aisles and shelved. It seems forever trapped in the late 80s or early 90s. Their bathroom, should you find the need to use it, is sanitary but not at all well maintained. That said, they do have a very comprehensive selection of diapers and baby supplies, which some nearby store do not, so that's another point in their favor.
  
  To sum: unless you have special needs for snazzy produce or good meats beyond bare bones (pun intended) cuts, it isn't worth driving elsewhere. But don't expect the most pleasant shopping experience.
